/ About

The BRTE Programme presents a novel approach for academia to engage with established relief and development stakeholders to transform the livelihoods of communities that are plagued with recurring shocks and stresses.

BRTE is being introduced in the wake of the UN’s Agenda for Humanity that provides a framework for action, change and mutual accountability in the effort to meet the commitments to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.  To find out more about the BRTE project click the ‘Find Out More’ button below.

Resilience knowledge and competencies are by their very nature multi-disciplinary and cross all aspects of livelihoods and their component human, physical, financial, social and natural capitals. Researchers in BRTE have been selected based on their strengths in a wide range of disciplines, including agriculture, food science, health sciences, social sciences, computer science and engineering.
