Overview of FAC
Future Analytics Consulting Ltd. (FAC) is an innovative, multidisciplinary SME which specialises in the areas of spatial planning, research, economic and socio-economic analysis. FAC has established a strong profile in applied research projects, particularly those with an underlying evidence-base (data-led) component. Particular research interests include the practical application of innovative research into policy development and strategic decision-making, societal enhancements and commercial viability. The company has conducted detailed research into urban resilience, with demonstrated research experience in societal security and crisis management. Founded in 2010, and benefitting from the extensive academic and commercial experience of its senior personnel, FAC has gone from strength to strength in the intervening period, expanding both its corporate expertise and its service offering. FAC is actively engaged in the area of European research and development, and is presently participating in a number of European Commission projects investigating a diverse range of topics.
Role of FAC in BRTE
FAC has specifically contributed in needs assessment, capacity and operational constraints analysis, stakeholder engagement, tool development and validation, business model planning and commercialisation/exploitation strategy elements of many projects which will be of immense benefit to the BRTE project. Within Ireland, FAC also provides advisory services to large organisations regarding the streamlining of their operational activities, and the consolidation or expansion of their business assets. FAC advocates an “evidence-based” approach to all projects, and is developing various city-scaled monitoring indicator frameworks, demographic dashboards for Government departments, and apps for decision-support. In July 2012, FAC was one of the recipients of the Enterprise Ireland/President Michael D. Higgins ‘Ireland’s Champions of EU Re-search’ Awards as one of the most successful SME’s in Ireland in securing R&D funding under the EU FP7 programme.
